Help us find a cure for Risanth
Risanth Ramanathan, is 13 years old boy, suffering from Hyper IgM syndrome with many complications since 2006. He is under the care of Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the UK.
In short the condition has been characterised by initial ITP (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) later lymph node swelling, nodal tumors in many organs(liver, kidney and lungs) hyper IgM and lately a tumor in the brain.
Risanth was treated with allogeneic bone marrow transplant with his sister as donor.
The bone marrow transplantation has not helped a lot. Latest MRI shows many findings in brain.
Due to brain affections he has lack of functions; speech, walk and so on.
Please help him fight Hyper IgM, a very rare life – threatening genetic disorder that plagues his immune system, he is currently undergoing immune suppression treatment at Birmingham Hospital.
We are kindly requesting anyone, especially those in the medical community for advice regarding diagnosis and treatment, in particular the known and unknown therapies as well as clinical trails anywhere in the world that could help save Risanth.
